Hello! I appreciate that you’re reading this privacy policy and I will try not to bore you to death.

Who we are

Our website address is: https://chasingwowmoments.com.

Disclaimer

This website is a travel blog. I write articles based on my own experiences. All content is exact to my best knowledge at time of writing, but sometimes people make mstakes. If I see an error in something I have written I will correct it immediately, and if you would like me to correct something feel free to contact me. Everything I say is my own humble opinion – while I may write about loving a place, others may not like it. And that’s okay. What I’m trying to say is: don’t take my opinions as facts but rather as advice, and just another opinion amongst many. I will not be liable for any possible errors or omissions on my website, and I will not be held responsible for any losses, damages or injuries you may have suffered (although I really hope not) because you used the information on my website.

I also want to add that I am not a travel agent and I do not have any official qualifications. I am writing and giving advice which I think can be useful to my readers but this advice is strictly based on my own experiences.

Finally, if you ever see an affiliate link in one of my posts know that I only put links for products or services that I have used and been satisfied with, unless otherwise specified. I would never recommend something I do not like.

I reserve the right to change aspects of blog posts and pages (such as this one) at any time.

Copyright

All text and all photos are mine unless otherwise stated. If you wish to use them for a website you must contact me ( for now, only possible through Instagram @chasingwowmoments). I put a lot of effort in my pictures so I will most likely ask for a fee and most defiinitely for credit.

Posts on this blog may be edited or deleted over time but the pictures and text remain mine. If you save a picture from a post which is then deleted that does not make the picture your own.

I will do my best to read and respond to all comments. If a comment is offensive or inappropriate it will be removed. The user may also be banned and unable to comment again. Anonymous comments may be deleted to encourage taking responsability for your actions.

Privacy Policy

I respect your privacy and I am very happy you trust me with your data. By using my website you accept that I need to collect some of it to optimize my website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

I may also receive information about you if you choose to link your Instagram, Facebook, Google, or other account while commenting.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics to track the growth of my blog. It’s completely anonymous, all I see about you is information like what country you’re reading the blog from and what articles you read. You can find Google’s privacy policy here. This information may be shared with third parties who want to work with me, but you will remain anonymous at all times. The data shared will mostly show things like how many readers I have every month and what region they’re from.

Who we share your data with

I like my data, and I like when it stays personal. That’s why I will never sell and have never sold your personal data to third party websites. I may share analytics with third parties wishing to work with me.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

On this website, I use several third party providers which allow it to function efficiently. These third parties have their own privacy policies, linked below.

Google

Aside from Google Analytics mentioned above, I also (will) use Google Adsense to monetize my website. You can read Google’s Privacy policy here

WordPress

My website is created and maintained on WordPress. Read their privacy policy here

Your contact information

If you sign up for my newsletter (coming sometime hopefully soon) I will keep the e-mail address you have provided me to send you information and newsletters (only what you have subscribed for. I will not spam you). Should you decide to unsubscribe, I will no longer keep your information.

Similarly, if you tell me your name when subscribing to my newsletter, it will only be used to personalize your newsletter.

Additional information

Affiliate links

In some posts I may use affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of those links, I might receive a commission. This doesn’t cost you anything (my link is seen as “advertisement” for the product, hence the commission).

All my affiliates are GDPR compliant. You have the right to be informed regarding how the data is collected and used, have access to data about you, ask us to change or delete data about you, and ask us to stop sending you newsletters.
